Having worked on eight pharmacy designs and refits for this client we were pleased to be a part of the Fairoak Pharmacy project.
Points of note
A pharmacy does not have to be based in prime location or a busy bustling high street to be successful. Working out how to strengthen the pharmacy score offering to the local community is key. This is exactly what Fairoak Pharmacy's Chief Superintendent set out to achieve. So when he called on Rapeed Design to come up with a new concept for Fairoak Pharmacy he knew he was in safe hands.
The space for the existing pharmacy was tight and it became evident that rather than offering a few pharmacy shelving solutions that a more extensive detailed vision, design and build service would be required. After the first consultation a feasibility study found that a larger dispensary area and increased retail lines will be necessary to encourage business growth.
The brief given was to create more space, an up - to - date pharmacy design that enhances the user experience, with unique design touches that create a calming and serene atmosphere.
An extension allowed for the existing pharmacy to increase from 55 square metres to 100 square metres. When the plans for the pharmacy retail setting and dispensary flow were finalised, the finishing touches were introduced to create a more boutique feel. The design touches included a feature wall image, a natural hand carved tree wall motif, wooden beams across the ceiling that were colour matched to the wood used within the bespoke pharmacy furniture. The finer details really do matter.
The new pharmacy resulted in increased face to face consultations with the pharmacist taking place. Footfall began to increase with new users coming into see what items were on offer and taking up the different services.
'Word travelled fast.' says Ketan Agravat the Chief Superintendent Pharmacist,' everyone loves the new pharmacy. Previously we had a very small consultation room that wasn't geared towards delivering services.
'We were giving a good level of service and now we are giving an excellent level of service in an amazing environment.'
Speaking of his experience of working with our team Mr Agravat adds, 'I know that they have a high professional level of service. It's also comforting to know Rapeed Design can rise to a challenge and they always deliver a quality standard of refit...they always have new ideas and it's always a positive experience'.
