Ace Accountants and Tax Consultants is an Ilford-based accountancy firm that provides
comprehensive financial guidance with an emphasis on personal service.
It was important for partners Pathmanathan “Vallu” Valluvar and Majuran “Maju” Pushpanathan to work from an accommodating office that offers both a private and homely atmosphere.
The nature of their business, providing bespoke, long-term financial services, meant they needed a workspace that clients would be happy to revisit. Ideally, clients would continue to return for the duration of their professional lifetime.
Vallu and Maju approached Rapeed with an unusual proposal. The property they had purchased used to be a local police station. Architecturally, this presented a challenge, as the building contained varying spaces, including corridors and unconventionally shaped rooms.
As a dated public building, the site required many renovations - Vallu and Maju both asked that Rapeed incorporate a modern look to the finished office. The outcome was a success, and Ace has since enjoyed compliments from staff and visitors alike, with Maju commenting, “Everyone who comes here admires our office setup”.
As with all Rapeed projects, the process first began with a consultation with the business’ directors. Anil Patel, Rapeed’s retail design specialist, presented blueprints and 3D mockups, to help Ace’s team better understand the proposal, which incorporated their requirements. Once approved, the fitting teams began work - the construction took ten weeks in total to complete.
Speaking of the combined design, Maju said, “We decided to go with it without a second thought.”
As the project involved starting from scratch, jobs included; stripping out the original interior, erecting OSB partitions, and completely refurbishing the floors, ceilings and electrics. The Ace project was more than a cosmetic touch-up - all aspects of the building’s interior were transformed.
The end result was, in Vallu’s words, like “entering a different world”.
